Terms of Service

The contractual rules, operating standards, and acceptable use guidelines governing all Alif Host services, infrastructure, and accounts.

Effective Date: January 1, 2025 | Last Updated: March 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms and Agreement Structure

By browsing alifhost.com, registering an account, ordering hosting solutions, or accessing our customer portal at https://my.alifhost.com, you enter into a binding contractual agreement with Alif Host. This agreement comprises these Terms of Service, our Acceptable Use Policy, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund and Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree with all provisions of these terms, you must refrain from ordering, accessing, or using Alif Host infrastructure and services. Your continued use of our website or services represents ongoing acceptance of these terms.

2. Account Registration, Accuracy, and Security

To order and manage hosting services, customers must register an account in the Client Area at https://my.alifhost.com. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current contact details, including your full legal name, valid email address, phone number, and physical mailing address. Customers are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials, passwords, and two-factor authentication tokens. You accept full responsibility for all activities, orders, configuration changes, and content transactions conducted under your authenticated account. You must notify Alif Host immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Service Provisioning and Activation

Following order placement and successful payment verification, Alif Host provisions requested services according to standard operational timelines. While shared and WordPress hosting accounts are typically activated automatically upon invoice clearance, certain specialized services (including dedicated cloud instances, custom virtual private servers, and manual domain verifications) may require manual configuration by our engineering team. Alif Host reserves the right to conduct standard fraud screening or request identity verification prior to activating new accounts or high-resource server instances.

4. Invoicing, Payments, and Billing Cycles

Services are billed on recurring cycles (monthly, annually, or multi-year terms) selected during order placement. Invoices are generated in advance of service renewal dates inside your Client Area. We support convenient payment channels including verified local Pakistani bank transfers (IBFT), local mobile wallets (JazzCash, Easypaisa, SadaPay), and online cryptocurrency checkout. Customers are responsible for verifying invoice totals and submitting accurate transaction references or payment receipts before the invoice due date to prevent service disruption.

5. Service Renewals, Expiration, and Suspension

Hosting services remain active throughout paid billing terms. If an invoice remains unpaid past its stated due date, the associated hosting services will enter a standard grace period followed by automated suspension. During suspension, public web traffic is temporarily paused and server control panel access is restricted. Suspended accounts are automatically reactivated once all outstanding renewal invoices are paid in full. Failure to settle outstanding balances within thirty calendar days of the due date may result in permanent service termination and decommissioning of allocated server storage.

6. Data Retention, Expired Service Recovery, and Reinstatement

While Alif Host maintains automated server snapshots and disaster recovery backups for infrastructure resilience, customers maintain primary responsibility for maintaining independent off-site backups of their web applications, files, and databases. Where an account has expired and been suspended for non-payment, Alif Host may maintain backup archives for a recovery period of up to two months, subject strictly to actual backup availability. If a customer requests data recovery or account reinstatement after the service expiration date within this two-month window, the customer must first pay all accumulated outstanding charges for the preceding two months plus the current month and any applicable service reinstatement charges. Data recovery is never guaranteed; if backups have already been permanently purged from storage rotation, recovery cannot be provided.

7. Acceptable Use and Strictly Prohibited Activities

All server resources, networks, and hosting accounts provided by Alif Host must be utilized exclusively for lawful purposes in accordance with applicable laws of Pakistan and international internet conventions. The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Malicious Software and Exploits: Hosting, distributing, or linking to viruses, malware, trojans, rootkits, exploit payloads, keyloggers, or unauthorized network scanning tools.
  • Phishing and Identity Fraud: Operating fraudulent web pages designed to deceive visitors, impersonate financial institutions, or harvest authentication credentials.
  • Denial-of-Service and Cyberattacks: Participating in, launching, facilitating, or relaying distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, port floods, or network amplification attempts.
  • Spam and Unsolicited Email: Sending unsolicited bulk commercial email, operating open mail relays, or utilizing purchased mailing lists without verified recipient consent.
  • Unauthorized Cryptocurrency Mining: Running automated cryptocurrency mining software on shared hosting, WordPress hosting, cloud nodes, or shared CPU virtualization layers.
  • Unlawful Content and Copyright Infringement: Distributing pirated software, unauthorized media streams, counterfeit commercial goods, or material that infringes intellectual property rights.
  • Child Exploitation Material: Storing, transmitting, or displaying child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Violations result in immediate permanent termination and reporting to relevant law enforcement agencies.

8. Server Resource Governance and Multi-Tenant Fairness

In shared hosting, WordPress hosting, and reseller hosting environments, physical hardware resources (CPU cores, memory, disk I/O, and database connections) are shared equitably among neighboring tenants. To preserve stability, individual accounts are managed under CloudLinux Lightweight Virtual Environment (LVE) limits. Accounts that persistently monopolize server capacity, execute unindexed database queries that lock server threads, or disrupt neighboring accounts may be throttled or quarantined. Customers whose application demands consistently exceed shared environment thresholds will be advised to upgrade to dedicated VPS or Cloud server infrastructure.

9. Domain Name Registration and Registry Regulations

Domain registrations, renewals, and registrar transfers processed through Alif Host are subject to the regulations and consensus policies established by ICANN for generic top-level domains (.com, .net, .org, and others) and PKNIC for Pakistan country-code domains (.pk, .com.pk, .org.pk, and others). Registrants are legally obligated to maintain accurate and up-to-date WHOIS contact information. In accordance with registry regulations, domain registrations and renewals are final and non-refundable once registered with the registry. Alif Host acts as an intermediary between the registrant and the authoritative registrar or registry.

10. Third-Party Services and Software Licenses

To provide industry-standard web hosting services, Alif Host integrates third-party software stacks including LiteSpeed Web Server, cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM), CloudLinux OS, WHMCS billing software, and external domain registry APIs. Third-party software is licensed under the terms, conditions, and end-user licensing agreements established by respective software vendors. Alif Host is not responsible for outages, service changes, or feature deprecations caused by third-party platforms or upstream telecommunications networks.

11. Customer Support Scope and Operating Hours

Alif Host provides technical support for server availability, network routing, control panel accessibility, initial service activation, and core hosting infrastructure. Sales and general support are available 24/7, and the technical support team works daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT), via authenticated tickets in the Client Area, email at info@alifhost.com, and our official WhatsApp support channel. Customer support does not cover custom application development, debugging third-party scripts, configuring external plugins, or fixing customer website coding errors. Customers are responsible for managing their own website code and content.

12. Refunds and Cancellations Summary

All refund requests, cancellations, and money-back guarantees are governed strictly by our separate Refund and Cancellation Policy: • Standard 15-Day Window: Eligible shared, WordPress, cloud, and reseller hosting accounts have a strict 15 calendar day refund window from the activation date. Under no circumstances will any extension beyond 15 days be granted, and no refund support or cancellation exceptions are configured or provided past the 15-day mark. Requests submitted after 15 calendar days are strictly ineligible. • Permanently Non-Refundable Products: Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Remote Desktop (RDP) servers, and all Starter plans (Shared Hosting Starter, WordPress Hosting Starter, and Node.js Hosting Starter) are permanently non-refundable from activation for all customer types, including agencies. • Domain Non-Refundability: Domain registrations, renewals, and registry transfers are non-refundable once registered.

13. Customer Content, Intellectual Property, and Tenancy

Customers retain all copyright, ownership, and intellectual property rights in the website files, databases, text, images, and applications uploaded to their hosting accounts. Customers grant Alif Host only the limited technical license necessary to store, transmit, and display the content to fulfill hosting obligations. Alif Host retains all rights, title, and intellectual property in our brand name, logos, website design, server software configurations, documentation, and technical methodologies.

14. Account Security and Customer Vulnerability Management

Customers are solely responsible for securing their web applications, maintaining updated content management systems (such as WordPress core, themes, and plugins), and applying software security patches. If a customer website is compromised due to outdated software or insecure scripts, Alif Host reserves the right to isolate or disable the compromised script to safeguard shared server stability.

15. Service Availability, Maintenance, and Limitations

Alif Host strives to provide continuous server availability backed by high-performance hardware and redundant network routing. However, web hosting services may be subject to occasional planned maintenance, emergency security updates, or upstream network disruptions. Planned maintenance is scheduled during off-peak hours whenever practical, with advance notice posted in the Client Area. Alif Host does not guarantee that service operation will be completely uninterrupted or error-free at all times.

16. Disclaimers and As-Is Provision

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Alif Host provides services and infrastructure on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Alif Host disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Alif Host and its representatives shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, commercial revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, or data, arising from service interruptions, hardware failures, backup unavailability, or unauthorized system access. In all events, the total cumulative liability of Alif Host for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms of Service or provided services shall not exceed the total amount actually paid by the customer to Alif Host for the specific service during the three months immediately preceding the event giving rise to liability.

18. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Alif Host, its representatives, and network operators from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, fines, and legal expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of services, content hosted within your account, violation of these terms, or infringement of any third-party intellectual property or privacy rights.

19. Force Majeure

Alif Host shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performing its contractual obligations resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including acts of God, extreme weather events, earthquakes, floods, war, civil unrest, labor disputes, national power grid failures, fiber optic cable cuts, government directives, telecommunications blackouts, or global internet routing failures.

20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service, along with all associated policies and service agreements, shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the substantive laws of Pakistan. Any legal dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these terms or our services shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Karachi, Pakistan.

21. Policy Modifications, Severability, and Entire Agreement

Alif Host reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service periodically to reflect technical enhancements, legal changes, or operational requirements. Updated versions will be published on alifhost.com with a revised update date. Continued use of our infrastructure following published revisions represents agreement to the updated terms. If any provision of these terms is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. These terms constitute the entire agreement between the customer and Alif Host regarding service usage.
